CINE 204 Production: The Cinematic Essay You will explore your personal voice and vision through a series of brief visual and aural essays focused on a course topic. These cinematic sketches may include a travelogue, diary, impressionistic news report, home movie, and real or imagined conversations, and they will lead to a longer cinematic essay expressing a fully developed concept pertaining to the course topic. A variety of visual, sonic and discursive cinematic practices are examined as well as the history and aesthetics of the cinematic essay as a filmmaking mode.
